my Background
I credit my mom for my love of design and all things pretty. I grew up in a bustling and colorful home with wallpaper everywhere! Trust me, it was cool wallpaper. Our home didn’t look like any of my friends’ and I loved that. My mom worked with talented designers to create a unique space that was both beautiful, and livable, which was necessary, for her family with six kids. Thanks to this influence, my favorite activity was to play “interior designer”. I loved rearranging furniture, playing with fabrics, and flipping through magazines.
After finishing my undergrad studies at The Ohio State University, I went on to study interior design at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco and at Parsons School of Design in New York City. My professional background is based in merchandising and product development, in both fashion and home furnishings, with home furnishings ultimately becoming my passion.
I spent my pre-college years in a small town and my post-college years in big cities. The moves from small to big, west coast-to-east coast, and now putting new roots down south, have created a lovely mix of aesthetics that you will see in my design style. I like an updated traditional foundation with a mix of textures and unexpected twists while always keeping comfort at the forefront.
I now happily live in Atlanta, GA with my husband and two kids where I will continue to grow and evolve-soaking up the rich design inspiration in my new city.

Staying local has always served my business and my community well. I have built LH&H by being approachable and professional; sharing my design style with my clients. I am lucky to have friends and colleagues who have turned into clients, and have organically grown through references and word-of-mouth into the business you see today.
